MUSIC NEWS: @THEEXPENDABLES to release new album ‘Sand In the Sky’ January 13, 2015; Kick off 40-date ‘Winter Blackout Tour’ January 23

Santa Cruz, CA-based reggae-rock-metal band THE EXPENDABLES will kick start 2015 with the January 13 release of their sixth full-length studio album SAND IN THE SKY (Stoopid Records) and then hit the road on their annual "Winter Blackout Tour" from January through March.

SAND IN THE SKY—mixed by Butthole Surfer guitarist and legendary producer Paul Leary (Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, U2, Weezer) and co-produced by THE EXPENDABLES and Gordon Brislawn (who was a co-producer on their Getting' Filthy album)--features the new song "Starry Night," currently available as a free download via http://sandinthesky.com. Those that pre-order the 12-track album via iTunes (HERE) will also receive an instant download of "Starry Night" along with another new track, "Music Move Me." SAND IN THE SKY marks the follow up to their 2010 full-length album Prove It (Stoopid Records), which debuted at #4 on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart and #30 on the Independent Chart, and 2012's acoustic album Gone Soft. See below for full tracklisting for SAND IN THE SKY.

The lyric video for "Starry Night"--with almost 14,000 views since its October 24 release—can be viewed here: http://youtu.be/NOzgSmUFYks.

"We are beyond excited to finally release Sand In the Sky," the band shares. "We know our fans have been waiting for new music and we can't wait for everyone to hear it! Go grab 'Starry Night' for free to hold you over until January and then get ready for us. This year's 'Winter Blackout Tour' is going to be insane and we're stoked to come to your city and rock your faces off!"
