New York City-based singer/songwriter, Shayna Leigh, has been making a name for herself since the release of her well received second EP, 'Hey Shayna Leigh,' on September 9th. The independent artist dominated the charts, reaching #118 on iTunes Pop Albums Chart, #2 on Amazon's Singer/Songwriter Chart, and #3 on Amazon's Hottest New Releases Chart!Shayna wrote the tracks with songwriter Peter Zizzo (Celine Dion, Elizabeth Gillies), Grammy winning producer Michael Mangini, and Steely Dan's Gary Katz. Recently Shayna teamed up again with Peter Zizzo and Michael Magini to pen an original holiday tune entitled "Wake Me When It's Christmas." This week Shayna has partnered with StarPulse for the exclusive world premiere the music video for "Wake Me When It's Christmas." This energetic video sums up the excitement that comes along with Christmas and the desire to be with the ones that you love. When asked about the inspiration behind creating an original holiday song, Shayna shared, "The thing that has always been the most definitive for me about Christmas/the holidays is time spent with loved ones. As people begin to come and go from our lives with greater frequency, the preciousness of our time with the people we love becomes more and more real. I wanted to write a song about that. We all know what it's like to count down the days until we get to see someone we really miss. It doesn't matter what religion you are- I think this experience is universal. Love is often... always... what it comes down to."
