During release week, Alex & Sierra will host several in-store appearances where fans that purchase the album have the opportunity to meet the duo and get their album signed. Alex & Sierra will then go on to perform at a series of Breast Cancer Awareness and Anti-Bullying acoustic radio shows across the US. Full list of dates for album signings and radio shows are below.
Continuing in their passion for social awareness, Alex & Sierra are joining forces with DoSomething.org, the largest not-for-profit organization for young people and social change to encourage their fans to collect and recycle aluminium cans through a campaign called 50 Cans. Alex & Sierra will be recycling cans while they're on the road and encouraging their fans to participate in recycling challenges, including designing artwork with cans based off themes from the album. Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton met on the beach in Florida when they were in high school, not realizing at the time that it was the fortuitous beginning of a musical journey. After auditioning with their sultry cover of Britney Spears' "Toxic," Alex & Sierra went on to become the first and only group to win the X Factor USA. The duo's massive success on the show is highlighted by their stunning performances of "Say Something" and "Gravity," which both immediately hit #1 on iTunes. Cited as one of the most highly anticipated debuts of 2014, the central Florida natives sold more than a million units of their X Factor repertoire, garnering over 2 million online fans and 85 million overall YouTube views during their ascent as one of the most buzzed-about pop duos in years. The duo's debut single, "Scarecrow," a rollicking folk pop stomper that perfectly melds the singers' voices, was co-written by Alex & Sierra, along with Martin Johnson (Boys Like Girls) and Sam Hollander. "Scarecrow" is now available on iTunes, and their debut album 'It's About Us' is set for release October 7th on Columbia Records/SYCO Music.
