MUSIC NEWS: Alt Press Premieres YOUNG GUNS' "I Want Out"; Song Hits No. 1 on iTunes UK

British rock band YOUNG GUNS have teamed with Alternative Press for the premiere of their highly anticipated new single, "I Want Out." The song, which AP described as "The Killers meets the Academy Is…,"can be heard here. "I Want Out" ships to Active Rock radio on 8/11 and is available now on iTunes. Upon its release, it immediately shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Chart in the UK.

"I Want Out," which was also spotlighted on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show as his "Hottest Record In The World," is the lead track from the band's much-buzzed-about upcoming album, which was recorded in Bath, England, produced by Steve Osborne (Joy Division, U2, Peter Gabriel) and mixed by Damian Taylor (Arcade Fire, Bjork, The Killers,).

"'I Want Out' is about the idea that everything is finite and temporary," says lead singer Gustav Wood. "Doing the record with Steve Osborne was amazing;  he really brought out the best in us and helped us to advance our sound. We're stoked that it's finally out there for everyone to hear."

The yet-to-be-titled new Young Guns album is due in early 2015 and follows the band's 2012 Wind-up Records debut and its title track "Bones," a smash hit that rocketed all the way to No. 1 on the Active Rock Radio Chart. While its companion video was amassing YouTube views by the millions, "Bones" had a remarkable 32 consecutive weeks of steady climbing, making Young Guns the new record-holders for longest unbroken march to the top. They also hold the distinction of being the highest-charting new band at Active Rock Radio in 2012.

Over the course of the past several years, YOUNG GUNS has emerged as one of the UK's most electrifying new bands, garnering radio play and chart success while playing to packed-house crowds on both sides of the pond, with highlights including a main stage performance at the Reading Festival, where they tore up the stage as part of a lineup that included Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age and Modest Mouse. In addition to being awarded the No. 1 spot on Kerrang's list of the 250 Greatest Rock Songs of 2012, "Bones" was highlighted as the official theme song for "Wrestlemania." iTunes also spotlighted the band in their "Best of 2012: Rock Albums" feature,  XBox Music hailed them with "Who's Next/Best of 2012" alongside Alabama Shakes, Elle Varner and Two Door Cinema Club and Alternative Press declared them "A Band You Need To Know."

Fans can catch Young Guns (lead vocalist Gustav Wood, guitarists Fraser Taylor and John Taylor, bassist Simon Mitchell and drummer Ben Jolliffe) playing "I Want Out" and a set packed with fan favorites during their upcoming North American tour with fellow Brits You Me At Six.
