COMEDY NEWS: SF SKETCHFEST ANNOUNCES “SUMMER SOCIAL” SPECIAL PROGRAMMING FEATURING FRED ARMISEN AND DOUG BENSON

SF Sketchfest, presenters of the popular annual winter San Francisco Comedy Festival, announced plans for a one-day "Summer Social" at the Castro Theatre on Saturday, August 16, 2014.

Fred Armisen, co-creator and star of IFC's "Portlandia" and beloved veteran of "Saturday Night Live," takes to the Castro Theatre stage for a night of stand-up comedy, featuring a very special opening act: Armisen's alter-ego, 70's era English punk-rock musician Ian Rubbish and his band. The evening will close with an opportunity for the audience to participate in a lively Q & A session with Fred.  Tickets available at: http://bit.ly/1g5TlPW

Wildly popular stand-up comedian and podcaster Doug Benson, the man behind "Super High Me," "Doug Loves Movies," and "Getting Doug With High" returns to San Francisco with The Benson Movie Interruption's live skewering of the third installment of the teen vampire series The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Doug and his surprise guests will provide live commentary and rapid-fire jokes as the film is shown on the majestic Castro screen at precisely, ahem, 4:20pm in the afternoon. Benson has already presented the first two Twilight films to enthusiastic sold-out crowds alongside special surprise guests including Zach Galifianakis, Patton Oswalt, Chris Hardwick, Michael Ian Black and more. You never know who might show up from Benson's long list of famous and funny friends.  Tickets available at:  http://bit.ly/1g5TF1c

Tickets range from $20 to $25 and are on sale now. For tickets and more information, go to www.sfsketchfest.com.
