On BEATLES REIMAGINED, hotly tipped U.S. indie artists across diverse genres including Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Well Pennies, Mobley, Jhameel, Badwolf, Adventure Galley, Night Panther, Feverbody, Doom & Gloom, Leftover Cuties, Brett and Gypsy Death Star were selected to re-envision these Beatles songs on their own terms (see full album tracklisting below). A twenty-something production team including Tim Anderson (Ima Robot, Solange) and Kevin Carvel (Atlantic Records, A&M/Octone, NBC's "The Voice") recorded BEATLES REIMAGINED with the rules that each artist had to be indie, none of the artists could be born in the era of the Beatles, none of the recordings could sound like a Beatles cover and all of the songs are from 1963-1964, the breakout period for the Beatles.
This past Sunday in Los Angeles, BEATLES REIMAGINED artists Mobley, Doom & Gloom, The Well Pennies and Gypsy Death Star performed at the Federal Bar in Los Angeles for an album release party hosted by Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The artists delighted fans and industry alike with short sets as part of the Mimosa Music Series. See photos from the party here: http://tinyurl.com/lat7qnw and here http://tinyurl.com/l8sueon.
