MUSIC NEWS: AFI Announce New Tour; Playing "Jimmy Kimmel Live" November 25.

Multiplatinum alt band AFI have announced the second leg of their headlining tour of North America, set to kick off January 10th at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson, AZ (see full itinerary below). The band is gearing up for the run with a trio of high-profile gigs: on Monday, November 25th, they'll perform on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" followed by a December 6th show at the Oracle Arena in Oakland for Live 105's "Not So Silent Night" and December 7th at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles for KROQ's star-studded 24th annual "Almost Acoustic Christmas." The latter two will see them share stages with Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys and more.

AFI are touring in support of new album BURIALS, which entered Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart at No. 9 and the iTunes Alternative Chart at No. 2.

Praised by the Los Angeles Times as an album of "ferocious rock performances," BURIALS' early success can be chalked up to lead single "17 Crimes" (the video for which can be seen here: and a sold-out North American tour that generated rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

About the tour's electrifying kickoff show, Rolling Stone wrote, "L.A.'s venerable Troubadour has seen a lot of big-name acts in recent months, from Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails to Courtney Love. But none brought the rabid fan energy AFI drew last night…the entire crowd sang along and pumped their arms. It was the first time anybody could recall crowd-surfing and a barricade at the Troubadour."

The album drew similar accolades, with Revolver proclaiming "it may be the most brilliant record AFI has ever made." USA Today gave the album 3 stars (out of 4), Alternative Press gave it 4 stars (out of 5), Billboard lauded its "hefty instrumentals and soaring vocal melodies" and the Houston Chronicle called Burials a "truly career-encompassing record."

Following their upcoming U.S. run, the band will head overseas for festival shows in Australia and Colombia as well as Lollapalooza dates in Chile and Argentina.

Burials is AFI's ninth full-length studio album and first for Republic Records. The Cali-based band recorded the album with producer Gil Norton (Pixies, Patti Smith, Foo Fighters) at East West Studios in Los Angeles. The record was mixed by Andrew Scheps (Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

Over the course of their career, AFI have written and recorded five top ten hit singles ("Miss Murder," "Medicate," "Love Like Winter," "Silver and Gold," "Girl's Not Grey"), hit No. 1 on The Billboard 200 (with the stunning Decemberunderground), garnered critical acclaim and amassed a fiercely loyal international following whose members number in the millions.
