Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden Set Eyes on "Looking Around."

Nashville-based indie rockers Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden are thrilled to debut the first single from their much anticipated collaborative film+music venture, The Shape The Color The Feel. "Looking Around" is now available at iTunes and Amazon.

Kate Tucker is the epitome of a mover and a shaker, going from her hometown of Akron to Paris, to Seattle, then to Brooklyn and now Nashville. At every turn, she made music both as a solo artist and with different incarnations of her band, the Sons of Sweden. In 2013, Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden launched a highly successful crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter, whose story was featured in Nashville Scene and Huffington Post earlier this year. They recorded ten songs at The Brown Owl in Berry Hill that were produced by Konrad Snyder (Kopecky Family Band) and Jordan Lehning (Caitlin Rose). Hank Williams mastered the album at MasterMix on Music Row, and 180-gram vinyl records are being pressed at United Record Pressing. KT+SOS handed the finished tracks over to a dynamic circle of creative friends, including ten filmmakers who were asked to give each song its own unique visual form. In addition to the short films and music videos, Australian artist Jessie English has created a photo installation based on the songs that makes up the album art and is set to show in select galleries throughout the album release. As this unfolds, Tucker and director Miriam Bennett are working on a documentary featuring the creative community emerging throughout this open exchange of artistic vision.

"The idea here is to bring the visual and conceptual components back to music. [...] But the real beauty of the project is that just as it seeks to recapture some of what music has lost to technology, it's utilizing the same technology to make that happen." - Huffington Post

Last week, KT+SOS made an appeal to readers of Nashville Arts Magazine, calling for collaborators on their "Best Friends' Love" music video, whose upcoming shoot will double as a wrap party, serving as the grand finale piece for the project. With "Best Friends' Love" in production and "Looking Around" just released, Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden will begin December on a high note. The band will unveil the second single from The Shape The Color The Feel on the limited edition Nashville Indie Spotlight compilation, alongside local favorites such as Leagues, Matthew Perryman Jones, Katie Herzig and more.
For Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden, The Shape The Color The Feel is a sort of homecoming. But it's also a leap into the great unknown.
