Daniel Sobrino Encourages Hope with New Single and Video “Box.”

Believe in yourself and acknowledge your full potential, is the inspiring message coming from pop singer and pianist Daniel Sobrino in his new single and music video, "Box."  Aiming to boost people's confidence through his latest release, Sobrino's provoking lyrics take on a sentimental theme of strength and liberation, despite negativity and adversity. The new single is a follow up to his debut release "Power of Us" which received praise from Music Connection Magazine, The Backlot, EQ Music, Gay.net and garnered over 52K views on YouTube.

As an advocate and member of the LGBT community, Sobrino has struggled with bullying and hate from his peers, just for being himself. With his new single "Box", produced by Hao Wang & Kazumi Shimokawa, he hopes to encourage others who have been in his position to be strong, stand up for what they believe in, and never give up. With potent lyrics that tug on the heartstrings, Sobrino sings "Box" with conviction and emotion; he pens, "Children are cruel…cause being gay ain't cool." Carried by beautiful piano chords, "Box" is an uplifting anthem for anyone who has ever experienced adversity. The outspoken singer created a behind-the-scenes video where he explains the song's inspiration and talks about his personal experiences, "I remember when I was young and I had to quit gymnastics because a guy in school told me I was a p*ssy…I was good at it…very passionate, then I quit." Directed by Brad Etter, the official music video shows an emotional Sobrino feeling rejected, sitting on the floor as he pulls pieces of paper out of a box with hateful words on them such as, "Diseased" "Afraid" and "P*ssy". Both the song and video are powerful enough to evoke tears and encourage action.

Based in Los Angeles by way of Mexico City, Sobrino has had a vision of musical success his whole life. Following his burning passion for making music, he made the big move to the Entertainment Capital to live out his visions. Being a perfectionist like most artists are, he persistently worked on improving his skills, defining his sound and enhancing his smooth, yet power-driven voice. He then began combining his thoughts and feelings with music and started writing songs for his debut EP, Born Again, due out later this year. Daniel lists some of his biggest influences as Ryan Tedder, John Legend, Sia, Emeli Sandé and Regina Spektor. The young singer has been making his mark all over town performing at venues such as the Loews Hotel, Room 5, The House of Blues, SIR Studios, and The Mint. With his relentless drive, Sobrino landed the coveted chance to perform alongside Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder, and Drake at the Nokia Theatre for the "A Time To Love" event. Sobrino's magnetic stage presence coupled with his enviable fashion sense and powerful vocal strength is awe-inspiring for anyone who experiences it live. His performances rake in a good crowd of local fans at each show and his national fan base is continuously growing.

Daniel Sobrino is surely making a name for himself in the music scene and spreading his message throughout the world, stating "Don't let small minds convince you that your dreams are too big."
