As work and school presumed, it became apparent that the future of the band would lie in the hands of KJ and Jamila. The Sims' decided to keep making music and formed the band Chrome Cats that eventually signed with LakeFront Records. They wrote and recorded music religiously in order to sculpt and mould a unique sound that would be comfortable and represent them in the truest way and generated a cult-like following with roughly a quarter-million views on YouTube, and a continuously growing fan base on Facebook. In May of 2012, Chrome Cats released their first national single, "DNA of A Winner", produced by three-time Billboard charting producer Floyd "Timeless" Thomas, marking the return of real lyricism, feel-good urban music with an introspective angle.  They've also released a music video for their single "Flight to Paradise," which helped launch their success and put them on the map as unique artists and refined performers.
