As she gears up for the October 22nd release of her debut EP 'Stupid, Stupid Dreams,' New York-based singer-songwriter MASHA has posted a stunning cover of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," which can be seen at .

The five-song EP of original songs introduces the 23-year-old New York-based MASHA as one of music's most exciting new voices. 'Stupid, Stupid Dreams' was co-produced by longtime Taylor Swift producer Nathan Chapman and multi-Grammy nominated songwriter/producer Claude Kelly (whose credits include Bruno Mars' "Grenade," Britney's "Circus") in Nashville. The first track off the EP is "Ugly," the lyric video for which can be seen here:

Masha, whose YouTube channel has garnered more than two million hits, also recently recorded a cover of Nirvana's "Come As You Are," which is being used in commercial spots for the new TV series, "Witches Of East End"

CMJ attendees can catch her performing an official showcase on Saturday, October 19th at Rockwood Music Hall.

"She's an amazing and authentic artist," says Nathan Chapman, who recently produced the first 2 singles from Keith Urban's Fuse and in 2009 won the Grammy for Album of the Year for his work on Taylor's Swift's Fearless. "She songs with the conviction of a Pentecostal preacher. She has an angle on life that makes you see things differently than before you heard her music." After they met on a Martina McBride project, Claude asked Nathan to listen to Masha. "He immediately fell in love with her voice and instantly committed to the project. That's rare in this complicated industry," says Kelly, who executive-produced Jessie J's upcoming album.

"My style is hard to pin down," Masha says. "It's dirty and grungy and full of contradictions. I like angry, crazy rockers, happy country songs and folk ballads, anything with real emotion. They liked my outside the box thinking and we started writing together."

"I can't remember a time when I didn't sing," she says. "When I was little, I sang along with the radio. People like Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, and Christine Aguilera attracted me, strong women who could really belt it out." Masha took piano lessons as a child, but by the time she was a teen, she was playing guitar, writing songs and playing open mikes. Masha's full-length debut is due in 2014.
