We As Human’s Debut Album Matches Well With Rock Giants. – Album Review

We As Human are a new Christian rock outfit from Nashville. The band was discovered by Skillet’s front man, John Cooper, who lends his vocals on the album’s track, “Zombie.”

The self-titled debut effort, released June 25th, also features former Flyleaf front woman, Lacey Sturm, who contributes to a nice rock duet on the track, “Take The Bullets Away.”

These two songs highlight the album but they aren’t the best tracks. The song “Dead Man” is a tune to get excited about for this up and coming group. This is an overall great track that sets the tone for the entire album. The harmonies and chord progression make for a well written debut that will get a lot of buzz.

The Atlantic signed We As Human also have an opportunity to get listeners as part of the current Carnival of Madness line-up, which features Skillet as well as rock giants Shinedown, Papa Roach and In This Moment.

Other highlights of this album are “Taking Life” and “I Stand.” This is a solid debut for a band on the upswing. The only negative, if you want to call it that, is We As Human’s rise. A lot of bands spend years on the road getting accustomed to the lifestyle and each other.

For a band that started in 2006, I hope that the sudden rise doesn’t deter them from obstacles that may potentially set them back in the future. From what I’ve heard and read about We As Human, that likely won’t occur. But, only time will tell.
