Alternative blues-soul singer ZZ Ward continues her trek across North America behind her acclaimed full-length debut, Til The Casket Drops, with her newly announced The Down and Dirty Shine Fall 2013 Tour. This fall run of dates follows her coast-to-coast summer tour, which has included performances at some of the most anticipated music festivals this summer, including Sasquatch and Firefly, where she's shared the stage with the likes of The Lumineers, Kendrick Lamar, Vampire Weekend, and more. An eclectic and innovative performer, Ward's mix of backporch blues and gritty hip-hop beats has been resonating with both fans and critics alike. Said the New York Times recently, "[ZZ Ward's] energy evokes Tina Turner's, her chops Aretha Franklin's, and her soul Etta James's," with Interview Magazine adding that she was "born with a voice as big as her name."
Ward is set to make her Jimmy Kimmel Live! debut on July 3rd, with a rousing performance of her new single, '365 Days.' In addition, Ward recently released her '365 Days' EP, which features alternate versions of her songs 'Blue Eyes Blind' and 'Move Like U Stole It,' along with a Son House cover of 'Grinnin' In Your Face' (Live at the Troubadour), which was part of an exclusive 7" for Record Store Day. All advanced online tickets include a download of the new 365 Days EP and can be purchased here: http://smarturl.it/ZZFallTour
Commanding the stage, whether in front of a festival crowd or in a more intimate club setting, Ward at once brings the soulfulness of the blues, the sexiness of a chanteuse, and the passion of the hip-hop artists she grew up on. Rounded out by a wall of sound supplied by her backing band of unparalleled talents, help bring this unique blend of music to life.
