Michael Ballard and Jesse James Dupree's Throttlefest and HOB Entertainment have announced the on-sale for Big N Rich appearing at the Full Throttle Saloon Amphitheater in Sturgis, SD on Wednesday August 7. The on-sale is live and can be found here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/throttlefest-and-hob-ent-present-big-sturgis-south-dakota-08-07-2013/event/06004ABE83823B48?artistid=928303&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=2.
Jesse James Dupree shared, "We only do shows in the back Full Throttle amphitheater when it's something special. Big N Rich definitely qualify as something special. Those guys know how to bring a party."
Big N Rich are America's Technicolor cowboys, brothers-in-arms in service to the creed that great music has no boundaries. Individually, John Rich and Big Kenny Alphin are first-rate musicians, songwriters, producers and entertainers. Together, they are one of the most truly original musical forces ever unleashed on a welcoming world. Their music has always displayed great range, with well-crafted songs about love, loss, patriotism and social issues all interspersed among those party anthems, and that is especially true here. Their latest release Hillbilly Jedi covers a great deal of stylistic ground, from "Last Words," which John describes as "Roy Orbison meets Queen," and "Lay It All On Me," a meditation on happiness and love set amid a hauntingly beautiful track complete with choir, to "'Cause I Play Guitar," a bluesy bauble celebrating the fruits of the rocking life.
Big & Rich have, of course, made a difference, exploding into the public consciousness in 2003 as that rarest of breeds—true country music game changers. With 2004's triple-platinum Horse of a Different Color, they were able to tap into the best strands of a wide spectrum of popular music, filter them through their pens and voices and produce a sound that is instantly recognizable, if not classifiable.
"It seems like when you put John and Kenny together and we become Big & Rich, it's like Clark Kent walking into the phone booth and coming out a superman," says John. "We can't explain it. It's like a chemical reaction between Kenny and me on stage, something you can feel there—Hillbilly Jedi, the force is with you. It's funny to think about but it's really true, we walk out on stage and start laying into this thing, the energy goes back and forth between us and the crowd and it's palpable."
Ballard and Jesse James Dupree will stage the ThrottleFest Chicago Music Festival from June 20-23 at Toyota Park. Coined the Midwest's Largest 3 Day Bike Rally, the event has become a cultural phenomenon where fans of music and motorcycles assemble en masse. On June 21, Vince Neil headlines, with appearances confirmed by Pop Evil, The Last Vegas and Wayland. On the 22nd, Throttlefest organizer Jesse James Dupree's Jackyl headlines, with support sets from his son Nigel Dupree and American Motherload. The event will be staged at Toyota Park.
The entire cast of the hit television show on the Tru-TV Network will be on-site for the festivities. Characters including Full Throttle Saloon owner Michael Ballard, his new bride Angie and her Rockstar Bartenders, Jesse James Dupree, The Flaunt Girls, Goat, and others will be featured in the events scheduled. Throttlefest also presents many of the attractions from the legendary club's Sturgis location including the Wall of Death, the Burn Out Pit, the mechanical bull, Pro Blitz Wrestling, and others alongside a massive gathering of vendors congregating in the Chicagoland area with motorcycle accessories and other items of interest. The Full Throttle Saloon will be erected in Toyota Park, bringing the legendary Sturgis environment to life for Throttlefest.
Organizer and Jackyl front man Jesse James Dupree recently shared, "Bringing everything that is Full Throttle Saloon to Chicago was such a success last year that I was worried the city officials would outlaw it happening again. Instead, they have made me the honorary mayor and my office will be located at Toyota Park June 20 - 23 for ThrottleFest 2013. This year is going to be one better as we have massive amounts of camping available. Come on…. and bring the party. Puh pow!" The 4-Day VIP Pass is $100, while the 2-Day Week-end pass if $30.00. Doors open Friday at 11 A.M., with single tickets available at $20.00. For Saturday, doors are set for 9:00 A.M., with a $20.00 admission.
