Artist Direct Premieres New Song "Can't Put My Finger On It" From Amy Lynn & The Gunshow.

Amy Lynn & The Gunshow have partnered up with Artist Direct to premiere a new song, "Can't Put My Finger On It" and have announced an east coast summer tour.  The band will kick off their tour on June 29 at the Rochester Jazz Festival and will make their way up the east coast hitting Boston, Bridgeport, Baltimore, Burlington, Rosemont (PA), Lake Placid and have THREE shows in New York - July 8 at Rockwood Music Hall, September 12 at The Cutting Room and September 19 at World Wide Plaza.  The band will stay in New York through the fall to play a few showcases at CMJ and also begin recording material for their early 2014 full length debut.
"Can't Put My Finger On It" will give fans a taste of what's to come on the full length.  The song was written by Amy, her husband (and fellow Gunshow member) Alex Hamlin and Alex Forbes (Taylor Dane).  According to Amy the idea behind it is "that feeling of knowing deep down the person you love is up to no good, but you just can't believe it or don't want to." After writing the song, the duo were having difficulty coming up with everyone's parts and Amy suggested Alex just start jamming on his baritone sax and had everyone join in.  That worked.  They began playing it at live performances and got such a great response to the intro where it's just Amy and Alex, they decided to record the entire song again, just the two of them.  "What you hear on this recording is just Alex and I - his baritone sax, my voice" says Amy.  She goes on, "we performed the song live in the studio at the end of a long recording session with our band.  This was the last take of the day.  No edits to either parts, just a raw flow."
The vocal gymnastics Amy Lynn Zanetto can pull off in a mini-dress and stilettos would have Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Mariah Carey on their feet by curtain call. As each of these women has done before her, Amy Lynn brings her own unique flair to the diva tradition, adding a quirky, down-to-earth humor to her front woman role that lands Amy Lynn and Gunshow in a league of their own. The Gunshow has a 60's soul, rock, blues sound marked by powerhouse singers and infectious horn licks as especially fertile ground on which to showcase their combined talents. Together and apart they have played all around the world gracing the stage with Duffy, St. Vincent, Lucy Woodward, Yo La Tengo, Spoon, The Radio City Orchestra and many more.  They have been played on radio stations throughout the world. Given the Gunshow's standout showmanship and feel-good energy, it's no wonder that their performances at NYC's top venues, including Joe's Pub, Highline Ballroom, The Mercury Lounge, The Bitter End and The Bell House, have met with glowing reviews. Better stay tuned: they'll soon be tearing up a stage near you.
