FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS' "OUT OF MY LEAGUE" VIDEO IS OUT NOW

"Out Of My League," the new video from Fitz and The Tantrums, is out now. It can be viewed, shared and embedded here. The clip, which will receive its on-air premiere on VH1's "Top 20 Countdown" this Saturday, April 27, was directed by Jordan Bahat (fun., Grouplove). "Out Of My League," the first single from the band's forthcoming album, More Than Just a Dream, is already a Top 20 hit at Modern Rock radio, where it can be heard on such stations as KROQ-Los Angeles, WKQX -Chicago, KDGE-Dallas, KNDD-Seattle, WBOS-Boston, 91x, KBZT in San Diego, Live 105-San Francisco and KTBZ-Houston as well as SiriusXM Alt Nation. It's a Top 10 hit at the Triple A format and #1 on the BDS Indicator chart featuring National Public Radio stations such as WXPN-Philadelphia (with an upcoming appearance on "World Café), KCMP-Minneapolis and KCSN-Los Angeles. "Out Of My League" is in heavy rotation at KEXP-Seattle as well as KCRW-Los Angeles, where the band will perform on "Morning Becomes Eclectic" in May.

More Than Just a Dream will be released by Elektra Records on May 7. Hype Machine will be streaming the album in its entirety from April 30 - May 6. Fans can pre-order More Than Just a Dream now at http://fitzandthetantrums.com. The album, which was produced by Tony Hoffer (Beck, M83, Depeche Mode, Phoenix), is the follow up to 2010's Pickin' Up the Pieces, which spent 73 weeks on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, peaking at No. 1.

The band will perform on the outdoor stage on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on May 8. Tickets will be available via 1iota.com here. Fitz and The Tantrums are ESPN's Artist of the Month for May. The new video and songs from More Than Just a Dream will be used across all ESPN programming throughout the month. The band is featured in Esquire's May music issue, which is on stands now.

Fitz and The Tantrums' current headline tour continues with a sold-out show tonight at Double Door in Chicago. The run includes sold-out nights at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis (6/17), Paradise Rock Club in Boston (6/28) and Irving Plaza in New York City (6/30). Fitz and The Tantrums - who spent last summer on the festival circuit, with appearances at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands - will continue their headline tour into the summer and will also be supporting Bruno Mars and Dave Matthews Band. See below for itinerary.

With More Than Just a Dream, the Los Angeles-based sextet ramp up the timeless songcraft and soul sonic force that made them a worldwide sensation to fashion a kaleidoscopic milestone that delivers on the promise of Pickin' Up The Pieces. From the charged back-and-forth between co-lead vocalists Fitz and Noelle Scaggs to the incontrovertible power of The Tantrums in full flight, More Than Just A Dream takes it right to the edge.

"The only rule in making this record was that there were no rules," says Fitz. "Nobody was allowed to say, 'We can't do that.' We didn't limit ourselves."

Rolling Stone said: "the album folds neon-tinted synthesizers and arena-scaled hooks into Fitz's fiery trademark funk to create a big, bright new groove." "More Than Just a Dream is a grandiose album-full of movement and energy," noted Relix. "On punchy numbers like single-ready 'Spark' and gospel-inspired 'House On Fire,' Fitz and crew have successfully crafted vintage tunes that simultaneously feel contemporary. It's the sort of disc that begs for repeat listens..." USA Today recently tapped "Out Of My League" as its song of the week, calling it "a colorfully catchy piece of '80s-inspired soul-pop."

Fitz and The Tantrums - comprising Fitz (vocals), Noelle Scaggs (vocals/tambourine), James King (saxophone), Jeremy Ruzumna (keyboards), John Wicks (drums) and Joseph Karnes (bass) - played their first show in December 2008 at Hotel Café in Hollywood, CA. After self-releasing the five-song 2009 EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1, Fitz and The Tantrums soon found themselves appearing on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic," touring with Maroon 5 and recording their full length debut, Pickin' Up the Pieces. The band was named a "You Oughta Know" artist by VH1 and views for the video for the hit single "MoneyGrabber" surpassed three million. Fitz and The Tantrums supported Pickin' Up the Pieces with two sold-out U.S. headline tours, performances at numerous major music festivals and appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Conan," "Last Call with Carson Daly" and "The Rachael Ray Show."
