Scream Queen Elina Madison (@elinamadison) Talks ‘Huff,’ Halloween and Horror. - Interview

Horror fanatics get excited because, Elina Madison - the Scream Queen - stopped by to tell us a little bit about her upcoming movie “Huff” and offers us a peek into the woman behind the scream.

Q - Since you're mostly known for scream queen type projects, what do you do to celebrate Halloween?

A - You would think that considering the number of horror films I have been in, I just can’t wait to scare everyone, dressed as a murderess who is slathered in blood! But the truth is my favorite thing of all is to dress up in a G-rated costume and take my 6-year-old daughter trick or treating. Pretty scary stuff, I know!!

Q - Tell us a little about your upcoming movie, “Huff.”

A - HUFF (aka BIG BAD WOLF, internationally) will be released theatrically in April, 2013.  It’s a thriller loosely based on the classic story of the Three Little Pigs and has so many twists and turns. My character Lorelei is a lost cause. She is very self-centered and an absolutely horrible mother to her three daughters and in total denial about what a nightmare her life is. Lorelei is married to Huff (played by Charlie O’Connell) and he is a very abusive and evil man. Huff and Lorelei have three daughters and he physically and mentally abuses them and his wife. My character Lorelei is so caught up in her own little world that by the time she figures it out what horrors have been going on, it’s too late. Then all kinds of hell ensues.

Q - Has it been your dream to act in horror films?

A - I dreamed of becoming an actress since I was a little girl. I have been fascinated with movies and how they are made for as long as I can remember. It still amazes me that I can watch a movie and be transported into a different world or time or scenario and get caught up in it. Movies bring out so many emotions in the audience. Acting in horror films actually happened serendipitously, and it’s definitely not all that I do, but since I am a huge fan of the genre, it was definitely one of my goals!

Q - If you had to pick one important lesson you’ve learned in this life so far, what would it be?

A - Don’t take anything too seriously. There is a time and place for being serious, certainly, but it’s so important to enjoy life and appreciate your family and friends and loved ones, and let the people you love know you love them as often as you can. Life is so short!

Q - What else besides acting are you most passionate about?

A - My daughter Lillian. She is so much fun to be around and so sweet. She lights up my world.

Q - What is the best advice you can give to an aspiring actress?

A - Be professional and never forget it is a business. It is fun and creative and inspiring and can also be heartbreaking and disappointing. Never give up on your dreams and have fun. If acting is what you want to do and you are passionate about it, then go for it. There is a lot of rejection in this business so be prepared for the no’s to get your YES!!
