"Maria Bamford: The special special special!" Available Wednesday, November 28th.

Maria Bamford is releasing her first direct-to-fans special "Maria Bamford: The special special special!" on November 28, 2012.  This one-hour "anti-special" stars comedian Maria Bamford performing stand-up in her living room for her parents, Joel and Marilyn Bamford.  Why bother with an audience of strangers when you can seek your parents' approval directly?

The special is directed by Jordan Brady and executive produced by Bamford, Bruce Smith of Omnipop and Chill.com executives Marc Hustvedt, Brian Norgard and Jessie Albert.  The complete high-definition video will be available for download for $4.99 through Chill.com's new direct-to-consumer platform Chill Direct.

Maria Bamford has been heralded by Judd Apatow as "one of the few people that really makes you laugh hard."  Huffington Post Comedy called her "one of the patron saints of comedy" and Slate deemed her "one of the most acclaimed and original stand-up comics in the country."  She is one of Esquire's "Women We Find Funny" and "one of the top comedians out there" according to CNN.com.  The Onion's The AV Club named her 2009 album "Unwanted Thoughts Syndrome" one of the best comedy albums of the decade.

Bamford starred alongside Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn in the film and Comedy Central series "Comedians of Comedy."  She also starred in two half-hour "Comedy Central Presents" specials and was "the crazy Christmas lady" in Target's Black Friday ad campaign for three years.  She provides voiceover for numerous animated series including "Adventure Time," "Legend of Korra" and PBS's Emmy-nominated series "Word Girl."  She recently recurred on the critically praised fX series "Louie" and will soon recur in the upcoming reboot of "Arrested Development" on Netflix.  Her new CD "Ask Me About My New God" is forthcoming from Comedy Central Records in 2013.
