Who Cares if John Travolta is Gay?

I mean really, who cares? Times are changing, I wish they would change faster, but regardless, things are changing. Adam Lambert is the first openly gay artist to top the charts, which I’m dissapointed that it took this long for an openly gay artist to have a number 1 album, but I’m getting off track. Over the last month there have been a handful of men who came out and said they were sexually assaulted by Mr. Travolta. Based on everything I’ve read from TMZ and where ever else, I have a hard time believing these allegations. That said if he assaulted these guys then he deserves everything he gets.

There is a rumor that Travolta had a six year fling with a male pilot. Why is this news? If his wife, Kelly Preston, had a six year fling with a woman…that would be awesome. Why is it different for Travolta? It’s tricky when you’re in the public eye and people start to accuse you of being gay. There’s nothing wrong with being gay. I remember like 10 years ago there was a rumor that Mike Piazza was gay. He had a press conference to announce that he was NOT gay. Why is that necessary? Who cares if you’re gay or not? Piazza treated the situation like he was accused of a crime. He had to come out and say he was Not Guilty/straight. Travolta is in a no win situation. Again if he’s assaulting people, then fuck him, but otherwise what’s the point, who cares if he’s gay or not?

I’m not a huge Travolta fan, but I thought he was pretty awesome in "Get Shorty" and "Pulp Fiction." If it turns out he’s gay, I’m not going to like those movies any more or less. If I were Travolta I’d handle it like Kevin Spacey does. He never addresses the gay rumor, because it doesn’t matter if he’s gay or straight. I’m not sure how Scientology views homosexuality, but I suppose I should have looked that up before writing this.
