Miss May I’s Ryan Neff Talks Warped Tour and New Album “At Heart” – Interview

Recently I got the chance to catch up with Ryan Neff of Miss May I to discuss the new album “At Heart” which hits stores June 12th. You can also catch Miss May I on this years Warped Tour…Zoiks! will be at the Tinley Park (Chicago) IL date, come say hi. Check out the interview below.

Zoiks! (Z!:): You're set to release your third album "At Heart" June 12th, how would you describe this album compared to your previous efforts?

Ryan Neff (RN): We let ourselves write more music that we thought was interesting and fun this time around. We also had the time to take songs apart and rewrite multiple times to make sure we had the best arrangement possible.

Z!: Your release date was bumped back from late May to mid June, as fans we always hear about release dates being bumped back what was the cause for the delay?

RN: We wanted to make sure everything was lined up perfectly for all our fans with preorders and realistic release dates. We were bummed to push it back but in the end it will help more fans pick up the record when it drops.

Z!: Have you had a chance to play any of the songs live?

RN: We have been playing "Hey Mister" throughout the Recorruptour, and our European tour with Parkway Drive.

Z!: How did they translate live and what was the fans reaction?

RN: The song translates great to live performance. The new record was recorded with the live show in mind.

Z!: What are your touring plans?

RN: We will be finishing up some east coast dates, including Bamboozle on the Recorruptour, and afterwards we are making a trip to Japan, China, Indonesia, and Thailand, which will lead directly into our run on Vans Warped Tour.

Z!: Will we get a chance to hear a lot of the new music live?

RN: Yes, we will be adding new songs as often as possible!
