Seasoned entertainer and former Pussycat Doll, Kaya Jones, has officially released the video for "Boyfriend" off her debut self-titled LP, Kaya - now available on iTunes. The electro/dance/pop artist broke away from the all-girl group to showcase and focus on developing her solo career and launched her own record label along the way dubbed HueMan Race Records, Inc. Kaya's innate ability to stand out as a solo artist fueled her desire to make a mark in the music industry.
Originally from Toronto, Kaya is no stranger to the stage. She has been involved in the arts since the age of two and was signed to a development deal with R. Kelly at the tender age of 15. With killer looks and an endorsement deal with All Day Energy® and sponsored by M·A·C Cosmetics, this pop vixen is more than just a pretty face. As a business woman who celebrates independence, she is a product of her own record label, executive produced her debut album and sealed a domestic distribution deal with Interscope Records. Kaya collaborated with various well-known producers for this album including UNAFKTD, who lent his talents to the lead single "Boyfriend." The electro pop track is about her finding out her boyfriend is dating another guy. Touching on subjects such as love, sex and enjoying life, like the party anthem, "Breakdown", this dance record is packed with pulsating 808's and infectious synth-driven beats. Displaying her versatile musicianship, Kaya peels back layers revealing her softer side with the soulful, "Let Me Be Me", and even draws from her Jamaican background with the reggae-infused, "Wallflowa."
Rocking clubs and venues from coast to coast has not jaded the star from what's really important in the world. Philanthropy and raising awareness to social issues is something the singer holds close to her heart. Being very motivated in her philanthropic work, Kaya has scored national recognition within the LGBT community and gives back to the Armed forces and other organizations.
