Will Michael Jordan Marrying Model Yvette Prieto Be Like Michael Jordan Playing for the Washington Wizards?

If there is anything to learn from Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods it is that superstar athletes should not get married. Granted, Michael Jordan, who led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s, is far from a superstar athlete, but he’s still a living legend and gets the same treatment as Bryant and Woods. If you don’t believe me, I bet you can think of someone still gushing over Greg Brady.

Let me first state that I know nothing about Yvette Prieto. The Cuban-American model has managed to keep Air Jordan grounded for the last three years. This, in itself, deserves a huge bag of Kudos. So, what does Jordan do? He proposes.

Since leaving the Bulls, Jordan has basically fallen flat in his basketball ventures. He tried turning the Washington Wizards around in the front office, making moves that no one else would make.

(Getty Images)

He then decided to come out of retirement to play nothing like his younger version and now Jordan is attempting to turn the Charlotte Bobcats into a contender. However, since inception, the Bobcats franchise has essentially batted .500 for its career.

Now, number 23 is attempting to make his second marriage work. It’s very possible that MJ has grown up and will now take this second opportunity seriously. I would really hate to see this attempt similar to that of lacing up the dusty Jordan’s with the Washington Wizards and, again, failing at something he probably shouldn’t be venturing into.

If the hall of famer can dedicate himself to Prieto and not succumb to stardom’s many distractions, it’s very possible that this marriage could work similar to that with the Chicago Bulls. I don’t know about you, but I sure as hell would like to see Jordan with a win again. Where the hell is Scottie Pippen when you need him?

The Big 10 Albums of 2011 Features Adele, Anthrax, Foo Fighters and More

I’m calling my top ten of 2011 the Big Ten because there are actually twelve albums in my top ten. I had a tough time cutting it down to 12. I really wanted to include the new Korn album, The Metallica & Lou Reed album (just for the artistic element alone), among many more. Number 13 was The Dear Hunter’s "Color Spectrum," a band I heard about for the first time this year and absolutely love, so I at least wanted to mention them. Below is my twelve top ten albums in no particular order.

Adele – "21" – I’m not going to pretend to be this huge fan of Adele, but I have to give credit where credit is due. In a world dominated by Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Britney Spears, it really is nice to hear something as musical Adele being mentioned in the same breath as the ladies above. Adele keeps pop music respectable for those of us who are into actual music.
Dropkick Murphy’s – "Going Out in Style" – The always reliable Dropkick Murphy released their concept album "Going Out in Style" in 2011. The album is about the fictional character Cornelius Larkin, an Irish immigrant who passed on and is giving a retrospect of his life. If you don’t care to follow the story, each song stands alone as well. The album features several special guests including Bruce Springsteen and Lenny Clarke.

Foo Fighters – "Wasting Light" – When it comes to popular music, rock music is dead…sort of. I mean there’s Nickelback, Bon Jovi and bands like U2, Muse and Kings of Leon, but for the most part rock music doesn’t get the credit it deserves. With the release of "Wasting Light," the Foo Fighters proved to the world that rock music is still alive and well. Check out the rest of my list, all rock bands, most of which you’ve never heard of.

Anthrax – "Worship Music" & Megadeth – "Th1rt3en" – Thrash metal made it resurgence in 2008 and has remained live and well through 2011 and probably will stay that way into the distant future. In 2011 both Megadeth and Anthrax released new albums. Both albums were amazing, but "Worship Music" stands out to me, because it may very well be the best Anthrax album. It marks the return of Joey Belladonna. Thank you Megadeth and Anthrax for contributions this year.

Noel Gallagher’s – "High Flying Birds" – This was the surprise album of the year for me. I’m a casual Oasis fan. When you look at legendary partnership like Jagger & Richards, Tyler & Perry (why does there have to be a guy named Tyler Perry) etc, they need each other to be great. I just kind of assumed Noel would need Liam to be great, but after hearing "High Flying Birds" I was clearly mistaken. If this album had the Oasis name on it, I think it would be one of the best selling albums of the year. Albums sales mean nothing though when it comes to greatness and "High Flying Birds" is one of the best albums of 2011.

Sound of Cancer – "No Vampires in Gilroy" – Sometimes an unknown duo can sneak its way into my top ten. Last year a lady by the name of Alexx Calise contacted me about her solo album "In Avanti" which was a great, original pop rock album. This year she sent me an album by her and Dennis Morehouse under the band name Sound of Cancer saying that it had a Pink Floyd vibe to it. Inside I was thinking, ‘God don’t say that.’ But when I listened to it I realized what she was talking about. You know when you listen to a band like Pink Floyd; you can just sit back, close your eyes and let the music take you on a journey. That’s what Sound of Cancer’s "No Vampires in Gilroy" did for me. I’m not just saying all of this because I’m friends with Alexx, because I’ve never met her. I get several emails a year just like hers, but her music has stood out. Good is good, it doesn’t matter how famous you are.

Kyng – "Trampled Sun" – Kyng is probably my new favorite band. If Pantera, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden had a baby, it would be Kyng. Those are four of the greatest all time bands, especially when it comes to heavy music. Kyng lives up to the comparison. I’ve seen them live at what they described as one of their worst shows and I thought they were amazing. They’re heavy, but they’re not a clone of any other band. They’ve got that groove that Pantera brought to heavy metal, they got amazing Black Sabbath influenced guitar riffs, a singer that channels Chris Cornell and occasionally they bust out these harmonies that are right up there with Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley from Alice in Chains. I just said they’re not a clone of anybody, then compared them to four bands, but blend those four bands into one and you’ve got one bad ass rock band that sounds like nobody but Kyng.

Leslie West – "Unusual Suspects" – Sometimes these top ten lists throw in a living legend just out of respect. The album could suck, but their back catalogue is so good that they godfathered their way in. That’s not the case with Mountain’s Leslie West. He had quite a year, losing his leg to diabetes. Just before that he had finished what I consider one of the great rock albums of this year. It’s funny, because the album is great all on its own, but then he brought is Slash, Zakk Wylde, Billy Gibbons, and a handful of other guitar legends to play with him. Whenever West is able to go out and tour, I want to see him play songs off of this album as much as I want to hear songs like "Mississippi Queen." That doesn’t happen often with veteran rocks tars.

Eric Sardinas and Big Moter – "Sticks and Stones" & The Steepwater Band – "Clava" – Earlier I combined Anthrax and Megadeth, well now I’m going to combine Eric Sardinas and The Steepwater Band. Both these guys have that bluesy, rootsy, rock sound. Both feature a lot of slide guitar and both are amazing live acts. Eric Sardinas and Big Motor released "Sticks and Stones" and it’s one of those albums you throw on and listen to beginning to end. That said my favorite song in 2011 is probably "County Line." Then you’ve got the boys out of Chicago, The Steepwater Band. I thought their last album and EP was great, but their newest album "Clava" is such an improvement. I truly mean I thought "Grace and Melody" was one of the greatest albums of I think 2009, but "Clava" was just a huge step forward for a band who was great where they. I can’t wait until they come back to town.

Black Stone Cherry – "Between the Devil & the Deep Blue Sea" – Black Stone Cherry are road warriors. I don’t even know how many times I’ve seen them live. At first I was seeing them on accident, they were opening for bands I love like Buckcherry and Black Label Society, but without owning one of their albums they became a band I love and respect. I eventually got all of their albums. This year saw the release of "Between the Devil & The Deep Blue Sea." I think this will be the album that gets Black Stone Cherry to the next level is popularity. There are so many kick ass songs on the album, but "Blame it on the Boom Boom" is going to be huge…I can just feel it. We need to get these guys on tour with Aerosmith.

Fake Boobs Are No Joke, Seriously!

There seems to be a fake boob problem going on in the world that must be talked about. Apparently, the French firm Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) has been illegally importing fake boobs that resulted in the Venezuelan government to take action to remove them.

This is so much of a problem that the country's leaders are willing to pay for the removal themselves. That's because, at any given moment, like possibly NOW, the fake boobs could rupture due to a containment of industrial grade silicone fiber, which makes them more liable to split.

Wow!

How horrible would that be to see a woman's fake boobs split, causing her chest to deflate right before your very eyes?

Over the last decade, it is reported that more than 300,000 fake boobs were sold around the world to 60 plus countries. The problem? Although the Venezuelan government is picking up the tab to remove them, they are not going to pay to have them replaced.

Thus, the predicament that thousands of women are facing. The first being concern that their fake boobs could split at any given moment and the second being that now everybody knows they have fake ta-tas.

I don't know what's worse!

Adam Lambert Arrested! Still Alive…

Glamberts will be on Internet patrol commenting/explaining on why their boy, Adam Lambert, ended up in a Finnish jail after a physical altercation with boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen. Anyone that writes about the glittery alien knows firsthand that their article will be scrutinized, most of the time, unfairly by Lambert fans.

The "American Idol" alumnus rose to stardom after appearing on the reality show when he wowed people with his unique look and voice. Lambert, who is openly gay, often times spreads the message of "love" to everybody via Twitter and random news stories.

However, this time around there was no love between Lambert and Koskinen. According to TMZ, the arrests were made around 4 AM in front of the popular gay bar, DTM (Don't Tell Momma).

The singer, upon arriving in Finland, tweeted in Finnish stating that "Helsinki is beautiful and full of beautiful people." I wonder what his next tweet will be. But, more importantly, I wonder what Glamberts will be saying about their guy. There definitely hasn't been any love of me by Glamberts of late.

Don’t Blame Kobe Bryant or Tiger Woods, Blame The Women.

It looks as if another superstar athlete is heading down Divorce Lane. Kobe Bryant and his wife of 10 plus years Vanessa Bryant are filing for divorce. Much like the well publicized relationship regarding Tiger Woods and his many affairs, the Los Angeles Lakers all-star has been accused of stepping out with former Playboy Playmate Jessica Burciaga.

Of course, both parties involved claim that nothing is going on so, like the Woods scandal, we will have to wait until all the facts come out. This isn't the first time the basketball player has found himself in hot water. In 2003, the infamous Colorado scandal rocked the headlines in which Bryant admitted to having consensual sex with Katelyn Faber.

Why do superstar athletes even get married? That's the million dollar question. In Woods,' and possibly Bryant's case, it's the millions (plural) dollar question. The Lakers guard got married in April 2001 while the golf phenom married in October 2004. Woods had a chance; he was single when he began to make his money and his potential was evident. His initial claim of getting hitched for image purposes doesn't play a factor at all. A superstar athlete who plays to win both on and off the court would still reap sponsors. Companies are in it for money; and that's what Tiger Woods brought. Who cares about his single life?

These two athletes are well-known everywhere they go - cities, states, countries. Some women, albeit I hate to say, throw themselves at bling. If every time I walked into a room and a cheeseburger was put in front of my face, at some point I'm going to eat it. I hate to compare these women to pieces of meat, but the fact a rich, good looking athlete could essentially walk into any city and have a beautiful woman thrown at him lends itself to how much a problem this is. All I'm saying is, "That's a lot of cheeseburgers!" The Hamburglar would have a heyday if he could make three pointers consistently.

I don't necessarily blame Bryant and Woods because men in this position have weaknesses to gorgeous women. They get married with their wives going into the union knowing that this could potentially be a problem. It's the tradeoff of having a glamorous lifestyle.

Woods got into trouble with multiple women; now Bryant is in a similar situation. There's only so much to be said that these two play for the love of the game, because at the end of the day, they should also play for the love of their wives and families. But c'mon, if you're as competitive as these two superstars are, could one woman really be enough? How many championships have the two compiled? These two are both in their respective sports for more wins. If there is someone to blame, maybe it should be the women who marry them thinking they could "change" them when in reality it comes down to having nice things and being treated like their husbands, MVP's.

Nina Sky (@ninasky)Talks ‘Move Ya Body’ and Dinah 2012. - Interview

Identical twin sisters Natalie and Nicole Albino make up the sizzling hot music duo Nina Sky. The girls’ new EP, “The Other Side,” has received enormous support from their fans and the two have no plans of stopping anytime soon. Along with a full-length album this spring, Nina Sky will perform at the legendary Dinah 2012. Natalie and Nicole recently stopped by to talk about their music, what it’s like being twins and their hit single, “Move Ya Body.”

Q – Nina Sky is comprised of twin sisters, Natalie and Nicole Albino. When you two were younger, was it both of your goals to go into music or did one have to coax the other? How did you two get started?

Natalie - Music was always a shared passion of ours. Growing up, our step dad was a deejay and that sparked our interest. As soon as our mom allowed us, we starting going to tons of auditions. Through the auditions, we landed a deal with a production company and eventually signed with a record label. We released our first album in 2004. That's the short version of the story!

Q – Your first album, self-titled, dropped in 2004 and spawned the smash hit, “Move Ya Body.” A lot of artists don’t see that type of success until their second or third album. Has the success made it easier or difficult to maintain that type of momentum with subsequent projects? Do you feel like you’re continually trying to top the first album?

Nicole - "Move Your Body" is the song that opened the door for a lot of other cool things to happen in our career. Whether it has made it easier or harder for us after having a hit like that? I don't really know. Our goal is not trying to "top" what we created on our first album, for us it's just important to stay inspired, make great music, and to continue to do that 'til we're old and grey.

Q – I have twin brother-in-laws and they have a special connection, as I believe a lot of twins do. When the two of you are collaborating creatively, has there ever been disagreement on how songs should be written? Any so bad that it has affected a song, your relationship, etc.?

Natalie - We do have our disagreements and believe me, they’re not only about how songs should be written! None that have affected our relationship though. We respect each other's ideas, especially when working on music. If we have to change something in a song, we figure out how to fix it and keep on moving. No hurt feelings, no grudges. All love.

Q – Nina Sky will perform at The Dinah 2012. How did you two get involved with this event?

Natalie - We got the booking request and we were totally down. Looks like a great event!

Q – A new EP was just released digitally. How has the response to the new material been?

Nicole - Yes, we released "The Other Side" EP via our website http://www.ninaskyhigh.com/ in 2010. The response was great! It was our first independent project; no major label. We collaborated with a few of our favorite producers and made magic.

Q – Are there any plans for a full-length release?

Natalie - Yes! We're releasing a new project this spring. The first single will be released at the top of the year, with a video to follow. The first single is called "Daydreaming." Be on the look out!

Q – Thank you for taking the time. Is there anything you wanted to add?

Nicole - Yes, thank you for the interview! For the latest in Nina Sky news, check us out @ninasky on Twitter, www.ninaskyhigh.com/blog and www.Facebook.com/Ninasky. And most importantly, lots of love to all our fans!

10 Tips for Surviving Christmas. - Humor Column

Christmas is a special time of year. It's a time when you see all those people you love and all those people you have to see for the simple fact that you're related. I think as much as everyone LOVES this holiday there are some fundamental issues we cannot control. (like our relatives choice in conversational topics). The following are some idea's I've come up with and actually practice myself. These are actual issues I run into every year and this is how I handle them in a sane manner.

1. Do not eat the crescent cookies. You didn't like them last year you will not like them this year. Spend the calories on a sure thing... the lemon squares (mmm). (This is in my case, you may have a specific cookie you do this with. but for some reason every year I think, hey a crescent cookie, maybe I'll like it, then WHAM, No!!!! Nuts!!!)

2. Bring your own wine. You know you'll have an alcoholic beverage that you will enjoy. If you get stuck drinking the Mike's Hard Lemonade that your 21 year old cousin Stephanie brought... it's your own fault.

3. Dress in comfy clothing. Things are going to start expanding every which way. You want to be comfortable. The baggier the better. Actually, you may just want to go with a Mu-Mu made of fleece.

4. If you have children let them eat all the cookies, candy canes, and chocolate covered pretzels they can shove in their precious little mouths! You want them to carb load. Any good parent knows they're going to need the endurance energy to unwrap all those presents later! Plus it annoys the shit out of those relatives who don't have kids. And THAT is the best Christmas gift you can give yourself as a parent.

5. Practice your "Oh, I love it" face early, often, and in the mirror. Practice makes perfect. If you have the face down well it will give you time to check under the lid of the box to make sure the receipt is taped to it. Now you know you can return said heinous gift and no one is the wiser.

6. Forget something on purpose. It's good to have a brief escape plan. I used to use this trick so that I could run away for a cigarette. But it's still useful even when you don't smoke but you are in a holiday rage anyway. Go blow off some steam while making an Egg Nog Run. And spread the love, if you know a relative who may need this time too, kidnap them and bring them on the E.N.R (egg nog run). Tis the season of giving, don't forget it.

7. Don't hover by the dip. Doing so will guarantee that you will run into the family member you dislike. Grab your chips, shrimp, veggies, grab another plate and get all the dip you want and then like a stealth plane get the hell out. Make sure you don't have to return for at least 20 minutes. The disliked relative is usually a hoverer. You will be cornered with little opportunity for escape. I repeat... do not hover by the dip. (this may be the most important tip of them all.)

8. If you're staying somewhere that bedrooms/beds are an issue arrive early. Get in, set your bags down in the right bedroom, and take a nap. At minimum roll around on top of the bed so that you clearly show your ownership of the bed. No one wants to sleep on a pillow you've already drooled over. The ideal sleeping place is key. You can't enjoy Christmas when sleeping on a cot.

9. Bring an extra, unassigned gift. Have it wrapped and ready with no name on it. Odds are you're going to forget someone random, who will have remembered YOU and you'll feel bad. So if you have the gift ready, you look just as on the ball as the random person. My suggestion for this gift is a nice smelly CANDLE. Men like candles, women like candles, kids like to burn things. It works out.

10. And lastly, be nice to your mother. She went through a lot of trouble to make a nice Christmas dinner and buy you all that shit you don't need. Bring her an extra bottle of booze. (Again, this is in my case. you may want to bring something else). But it's always nice to bring a hostess gift to the person who's putting you up and making you food. Alcohol is generally well received. In my mother's case it's vital.

I hope these tips help you enjoy your family Christmas. These are just some things I've learned over the years. And if my wisdom can somehow enhance someone's Christmas celebration, then that's all the gift I need.

The All-American Rejects Talk Music, ‘Kids In The Street’ and Staying Relevant. - Interview

It’s no wonder why the All-American Rejects are one of the most successful bands working today. Their dedication and attitude are top notch and their approach to each album does not allow for complacency. The band is set to release their fourth album, “Kids In The Street,” this Spring 2012. Guitarist Mike Kennerty recently stopped by to talk about the new album, the band’s increasing popularity and their new teaser single, “Someday’s Gone.”

Q – The All-American Rejects is a household name in music. Since the band arrived in 2003 you guys have sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. For those, however, that have yet to hear music from the band, how would you describe your sound in comparison to the rock acts that are prevalent today?

A - Are there many rock acts prevalent today? That's a joke, but it really does feel like rock has become the bastard child of popular music these days. Comparisons are in the eye of the beholder. We're just a band that still believes in melody, energy, and using instruments that you have to put a microphone in front of.

Q – The band has had major success with each album released thus far. It seems everything you guys touch turns to gold. The fourth album is slated to come out Spring 2012. How different will this album be versus past ones in terms of sound?

A - Each of our records has had its own distinct personality and "Kids In The Street" is no different. Our last record, "When The World Come Down," toyed with a lot of stylistic experiments. We learned a lot making that record and that experience became a great stepping stone for us to improve; it expanded even further on "Kids In The Street." This record is probably our most varied (which is saying something after "When The World Comes Down"), but I think it cohesively navigates and juggles different styles in a way none of our records have before.

Q – How was the writing and recording process different on this album versus past ones?

A - "Kids In The Street" brought us a fun, live energy we'd never had recording before. We tracked several of the songs live and took a much more laid back approach to capturing the performances. Feel took precedence over perfection. The benefit is the vibe. This record exudes moods in a way we've never captured before. It also helps that we've yet to work with the same producer or in the same studio twice, so we're always faced with a fresh approach when we walk in to make a record. No two people work the same, so we're never able to work the same. It helps us avoid stagnation.

Q – The first track from the upcoming album, “Someday’s Gone,” was just released for download. I’ve noticed a lot of bands going the digital route when singles and entire albums. When you guys came out people were still buying physical music. How have the internet and sites like iTunes affected a band like All-American Rejects?

A - The whole game has changed since we started. It's funny, "Someday's Gone" is just a teaser track (the single will be a song called "Beekeeper's Daughter"), but people burn through content so fast these days that you have to do things like a pre-single teaser song. And we even made a video for it! That would have been a silly concept when we first started out. But it's the lay of the land now, and we're honestly happy to abide. You can't deny the benefits the internet provides when it comes to connecting with fans and exposing the band to new folks. Of course, we've also been witness to how it has shifted the way people buy music. We've watched the digital single take dominance over the full-length CD, which can be a shame when you put so much work into an album. But people listening to a slice is better than them not listening at all, I suppose.

Q – With the musical landscape as cyclical as it is, how has the band managed to stay quote unquote relevant?

A - We just put all of our focus into making good songs. You could be the least cool motherfucker in the world, but if you write a good song people will respond. We never put all of our eggs into some style basket like some bands do. We wanted to be known for our music more than anything. That may keep us from being the biggest band in the world, but the tortoise wins the race, right?

Q – When the album drops, will there be a corresponding tour to support it?

A - Of course! We've always been road dogs. If we didn't tour our asses off and get it out of our system, I don't know how we'd be able to settle down to make records.

Q – If I were to turn on your iPod, what guilty pleasure would be on there that fans may be surprised to hear?

A - Dolly, Carpenters, Bonnie Tyler, the Mac... I guess a lot of female singers from times past, now that I look at it. Though of course I'm not a damn bit guilty about any of that.

Fan Questions:

Q – How did the band come together?

A - Nick and Tyson formed the band in Stillwater, OK in 1999. It sounded pretty different than what was to come. A couple years and a few line-up changes later, Chris and I joined on. We've been stapled at the waist ever since.

Q – Were you guys friends before?

A - Separately. Chris and I were from the same town and played in bands together in high school. The same goes for Nick and Tyson. It wasn't until our bands began crossing paths at shows in Oklahoma that we all became friends.

Q – What’s the best way to get a signed photo of the band?

A - Come to a show and get us to sign one!

Zoiks! Online’s Best Concerts of 2011 Include The Pretty Reckless and Black Label Society. - Review

Not only was 2011 filled with great music, it was also filled with great live shows. One of my favorite things to do is see how well a band plays live. I've always been impressed with the tenacity and energy that go into live acts, and when the band sounds well it only adds to the experience.

Bob Zerull and I had the opportunity to travel to different venues to check out some of our favorite acts, and some that we had very little knowledge of. Here is our list of favorite shows we had the chance to witness in 2011.

Jason's Top Three:

Girl in a Coma: On November 19, 2011, the Double Door in Chicago, IL hosted one of the best shows this year. It wasn't just the concert though that made the night. It was the fact my hotel room was reasonably priced for Chicago and the Blue Line (El Train) was only a two minute walk from it. Not only that, the stop was right in front of the Double Door. Talk about convenient. The show kicked off with two opening bands; when Girl in a Coma came on, the trio played an hour long set that sounded as if they were recording an album. Nina Diaz and Jenn Alva were both under the weather but they still managed to play an amazing set that was comprised of all four albums. The best part of the night was when the girls hung out before they went on. Fans got to get photos with them, meet them and get items signed.

Evanescence: October 21, 2011, Evanescence took the stage at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI for their comeback tour; well, not really, the band was promoting their new, self-titled album, the first in five years. The album dropped October 11th and went straight to number one on four Billboard charts. Amy Lee was in vocal form and the crowd appreciated an exciting hour long performance that consisted of most of their new album and hits from "Fallen." This band's dedicated fan base, along with one of the neatest venues, made for a fantastic show.

The Pretty Reckless: This up and coming rock band opened up for Evanescence in Milwaukee, WI. Their debut album reached number two on iTunes the week of its release and their show was a product of that success. Taylor Momsen and company energized the crowd with most of their album's songs and an Audio Slave cover. The former "Gossip Girl" actress took command of the crowd with her gothic look and seductive dance moves. The Pretty Reckless' live show was exactly like the album – exciting and sexy.

Bob's Top Three:

The Dear Hunter at The House Café in DeKalb, IL (7/23/11) – Going into this show I had heard of The Dear Hunter but was not familiar with their music. The only reason I agreed to the show was because I went to school in DeKalb, IL and I thought for sure I could get someone to go with me. Turns out I couldn't find anybody to go; too bad it was probably the best show I had been to all year. The performance was amazing; the in-between song banter between the band and the crowd was pure stand-up comedy. It was a magical night for me. I regret that I haven't dug deeper into The Dear Hunter musical catalogue.

Sully Erna @ The Rave Ballroom in Milwaukee, WI (5/30/11) – I've been a Godsmack fan for a long time so I was pretty excited when Godsmack and Sully Erna (Godsmack's front man) played back to back nights at The Rave in Milwaukee. I skipped the Godsmack show in favor of Sully's solo performance. I brought a friend who was not familiar with Sully Erna's solo work, and hated Godsmack. He was as blown away as I was. "Avalon" is a masterpiece of an album and the live experience is something special.

The Black Label Society @ The Majestic Theater in Madison, WI (5/27/11) – I've seen Michael Jordan play basketball live, but not as a Bull. I've never seen Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Wayne Gretzky play live, but I have seen Zakk Wylde. Zakk Wylde is to the guitar what Michael Jordan is to basketball and what all those other guys are to their respective sports. He is a living legend. I've seen Zakk Wylde and the Black Label Society seven or eight times. They never get old. I enjoy watching Zakk play as much as I like looking at naked women, maybe more.

Jon Bon Jovi Is Alive; Adam Lambert Is.. Oh My God!!!

Jon Bon Jovi is very alive after a Twitter hoax stating that the singer died of a fatal heart attack took to the web. The fake death traveled so far on the Internet superhighway that some fans paid tribute while others brainstormed to come up with punny things to say.

The most common jokes revolved around the band's hit song, "Wanted Dead or Alive." Apparently, deaths have become so funny that everyone with a sense of humor has to get in on things. By the way, Jon Bon Jovi must have taken a 'shot through the heart.'

The singer/actor/restaurateur confirmed his existence by posting a photo via his Twitter account. In the picture, Bon Jovi stands in front of a Christmas tree holding a sign that reads, "Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey, Dec. 19th 2011, 6:00."

At first I thought the photo was fake but then I realized that heaven looks nothing like New Jersey because if it did I sure as hell don't want to go there. I mean, have you ever flown into Newark?

But you can't blame fans for believing this news – official statements get posted on Twitter all the time. It's one of the newest trends to let fans know how creative you are in 140 words or fewer.

To recap, Jon Bon Jovi is alive; but Adam Lambert is dead! No, no, no, I'm kidding. "What do you want from me?" I'm just trying to be funny. Unless he is, then that would be weird. But he's not. And neither is Bon Jovi. And now everything is right with the world.

'Daily Show' Jon Stewart Should Throw His Hat in the Presidential Ring.

With Herman Cain left to explain why all these women keep coming forward claiming to have had an affair with the now former Republican Presidential candidate, supporters on the right are searching high and low for their next viable candidate. The front runners appear to be Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney, who recently took on a full assault on President Obama in the last presidential debate of 2011.

Political season is approaching full swing and with it comes a slew of ads telling you which candidate is the best and why you should vote. The debates have begun and all we know is that the debates have already been debated. When a candidate says something genuinely or in jest, pundits scrutinize what was said, twisting and turning each word, until the Presidential election this upcoming November.

One candidate I'd like to throw in the ring is Dave Kovic, from the movie, "Dave." In 1993, Kevin Kline portrayed a presidential impersonator/actor that ran a temp service that helped people find jobs.

When secret service tapped the lookalike to play the President, also played by the "A Fish Called Wanda" actor, the one-time gig became a full time job. What resulted was a new type of "friendly" president, courtesy of an everyday person.

While it was thought that the unseasoned common man did well in office because he wasn't too far into the political forest to see the trees, Kovic's sympathy for people helped, in one scene, to rearrange the budget to allow for funding that the first lady, played by Sigourney Weaver, was passionate about.

Of course, it's not as easy to be the real President of the United States as it is in Hollywood. The only real "Dave" to run and win the seat in the White House was Ronald Reagan.

Several big names in entertainment have already made a mark in government such as the Governator and most recently, Al Franken from "Saturday Night Live" fame. Another actor who has experience in office is former Republican U.S. Senator Fred Thompson.

Yet, the same names keep coming up when it comes to running for office. Names like Gingrich and Romney have been a part of the political atmosphere for years. Now, we obviously can't have Dave Kovic run for President, but maybe it's time for another artist, a real one, to throw his hat in the presidential ring.

I nominate Comedy Central host, Jon Stewart. He is good looking, has stage presence, speaks well in front of a crowd, has a sense of humor but also is smart when it comes to politics. The "Daily Show" host has criticized both parties fairly. In fact, according to Nielsen Ratings, Stewart's viewership alone is higher than the entire Fox News network. In 2011, "The Daily Show" averaged 2.3 million viewers while Fox News approximated 1.85 million viewers. There is a very apparent influence here. And what is the best trait of a leader? Influence!

How exciting of a race would it be seeing a three-way gallop to the finish line with Obama, Gingrich and Stewart?

Scarlett Johansson Nude, Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 Plan and Evanescence Are Zoiks! Online’s Best….

This year is flying by. Soon it will be 2012 and who knows what that year will bring? One thing is for sure, a lot of cool things have happened in 2011. One of the biggest bands in the world released an album after a brief hiatus, a beautiful actress had nude photos leaked to the web and a former presidential candidate had memorable quotes that made you go, "hmm."

Without further ado, here are the "best of" moments of 2011:

Best Presidential Candidate Quote: Herman Cain, who finally dropped out of consideration for Commander-In-Chief, summed up his candidacy when he said, "The 9-9-9 plan would resuscitate this economy because it replaces the outdated tax code that allows politicians to pick winners and losers, and to provide favors in the form of tax breaks, special exemptions and loopholes. It simplifies the code dramatically: 9% business flat tax, 9% personal flat tax, 9% sales tax."

Uh… oh… um… That's probably why he dropped out. Oh, and all the sexual harassment charges. What's next? A $9 dollar foot long at Subway?

Best Pundit Quote: Ann Coulter, the woman everyone loves to hate, had one of the best quotes in regard to former presidential hopeful, Herman Cain. On "Hannity," the conservative Republican said about the Democrats, "Our blacks are so much better than their blacks… To become a black Republican, you don't just roll into it. You're not going with the flow...and that's why we have very impressive blacks in the Republican Party."

I agree, the Republicans do have very impressive blacks; it's the whites that aren't impressive.

Best Leaked Nudity: There have been several cases of leaked photos hitting the web. Some were self-inflicted while others were the result of clever hackers. The most recent pictorial was from troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan, whose Playboy pictures found themselves on the net before the physical issue was released. However, this year's best leaked nude scandal belongs to Scarlett Johansson, whose iPhone photos became a "hit" on the internet – literally. Her photos and scandal were so popular it almost crashed our site. And we didn't even show them.

Now that the housekeeping is out of the way, let's hit the music:

Best New Band: This is a tough one. There have been many groups worthy of fitting into this category. That's why there is a tie. I know, I took the easy way out – get over it.

The first is Dead Sara, whose self-titled debut album sounds like a veteran group's fifth effort. This female fronted group, courtesy of Emily Armstrong, opened up for Bush and their album is one of the best of the year. And I'm talking about albums from all bands – new and seasoned. Check them out. You won't regret it.

The second is The Pretty Reckless, led by former "Gossip Girl" actress Taylor Momsen. Their debut album, "Light Me Up," debuted at number two on iTunes and the band has just wrapped up touring with Evanescence and Guns n' Roses. Talk about two great tours.

Band Most Likely to Break Out: Most people who read our site know that my favorite band is Girl in a Coma. So, I would be stupid to not say that the all-girl group is on the heels of breaking out big time. Their latest album, "Exits and All the Rest," just came out in November 2011 and it's just as good as their previous original effort, "Trio B.C." These girls are for real and with the help of the talented Joan Jett and her label, Blackheart Records, Girl in a Coma will soon be a household name. It already is in my home.

Best Comeback Band: Amy Lee and Evanescence came back strong after a five year hiatus when the band released its self-titled album in October 2011. It was so well received it went straight to number one on four Billboard Charts. There's nothing else to really say here.

Best Band I Happened to Stumble Upon: Bob Zerull and I traveled to Chicago for this year's Vans Warped Tour. We had our sights on seeing certain bands in the line-up. With a funked up schedule and nobody knowing which bands were playing when until the day of, we only managed to see a couple of them. One of those bands was New Years Day, a female fronted punk band similar to Paramore. I knew nothing about the band prior and found out they have been around for a few years. This was one of the highlights of Warped Tour.

Best Unsigned Band: Evolove will be signed very soon. The band, fronted by Lucy Levinsohn, will also be very big. I've listened to both of the band's EPs and each song, from top to bottom, is catchy and has that sound that is popular in today's climate. I reviewed their new EP, "Breaking Heartstrings," and said they were a little more polished than Paramore. That wasn't a knock on Hayley Williams and company; rather Evolove is just that good.

There you have it! Stay tuned for another year of reviews, interviews and news from around the web. Happy holidays and have a safe, yet fun, New Year.
