An Interview with Gemini Syndrome.

An exciting band that is currently touring is Gemini Syndrome. Their name is unique but what is even more interesting is front man Aaron Nordstrom's massive white beard. Guitarist Rich Juzwick recently stopped by to talk music and the current tour.

Q – Real quick, where did the name Gemini Syndrome come from?

A - The name is an idea that I came up with a few years ago. Gemini represents duality: good vs. bad, left vs. right, in vs. out, etc. Syndrome represents the idea of something we're born with. So the idea of Gemini Syndrome is that we're all born with this duality in life - two sides to ourselves.

Q – I've heard most of the band's EP. There is sort of a Bush meets Tool with a little heavier sound to it. How would you describe the band's sound?

A - If Lollapalooza and Ozzfest had a kid, it would be Gemini Syndrome.

Q – Describe the band's writing process. Is it one person or a collaborative effort, etc.?

A - The initial batch of music was written before the band formed. I wrote a majority of the songs and Brian (Steele Medina) wrote "Resurrection." Aaron wrote the lyrics and melodies to all the arrangements. In the future we'll all collaborate.

Q – The band is about to head out on tour with Stitched Up Heart and Evolove. How did this tour come about?

A - Our agent was booking a tour for Evolove and Stitched Up Heart. I told him to approach them with the idea of touring with us and they were all for it. The way we choose bands to tour with is either of these two ideas: tour with more established artists or tour with bands that we feel have the potential to break out in their genre.

Q – What types of things do you like to do on the road?

A - When we're on the road we try to soak in as much local vibe as possible: check out local attractions, restaurants, and talk to people.

Q – I look forward to seeing you guys. Is there anything you wanted to add?

A - We have a lot of developments in the works. Check out our Facebook for the most current updates: www.facebook.com/officialgeminisyndrome.
