‘Star Wars’ Fans, I Give You Bobaflex.

I love hearing about the origin of band names. When I discovered Bobaflex, my first reaction was, “cool!” Marty McCoy, vocalist and guitarist, of Bobaflex recently sat down to talk about the band, its new album and where the name originated from.

Q – Thank you, for doing this.

A - You are very welcome.

Q – How did the name Bobaflex come about?

A - We are all huge Star Wars fans. And Boba Fett was the coolest character from the trilogy. So, naturally the name was inspired by him and we chose Bobaflex in his honor.

Q – For those not hip on Bobaflex, describe the band’s sound.

A - Bobaflex is kick-ass rock-n-roll.

Q – There seems to be an abundant supply of rock bands out there today. What separates Bobaflex from other similar sounding bands?

A - Our three man vocal attack gives us an edge and keeps us sounding original throughout.

Q – With reality shows like “American Idol,” “The Voice” and “X Factor,” how frustrating is it trying to make it as a band when winners of these reality shows instantly receive fame?

A – It’s frustrating enough trying to make it without those shows and with the current climate of the music industry.

Q – Bobaflex’s debut album is coming out. What can fans expect?

A - All killer, no filler.

Q – Are there certain songs that you like playing better live than others? Which ones and why?

A - Radio singles are really fun to play live because the crowd sings those songs with you, loudly. But I also like to play the faster songs such as “Chemical Valley” and “Low Life” because it shows the whole band for what we really are, an up-tempo dirty rock band.

Q – Will there be a tour soon?

A - Heading out Friday May 20th. The first show is Louisville, KY. We end in Illinois. Look for a date near you!

Q – Thanks again for taking the time. Is there anything you wanted to add?

A - Call your local radio station and request "Bury Me With My Guns On." This song is going to #1! Look for our brand new full length studio album "Hell In My Heart" on iTunes and in stores everywhere, soon.
