"Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless' 'Light Me Up' is better than Momsen's flash." – Music Review

I am always leery when it comes to actresses thinking they can front a rock band. Juliette Lewis took a stab at it with Juliette & the Licks, Zooey Deschanel with She & Him, and Jada Pinkett Smith with Wicked Wisdom. Although Smith’s band didn’t do too well, Deschanel and Lewis succeeded. The latest actress to try her luck with the music industry is "Gossip Girl's" Taylor Momsen.

The underaged actress/singer recently made news when her band The Pretty Reckless was performing and Momsen decided to flash the crowd. The problem here was the fact she was under 18. The result was getting her name out. However, what Momsen and The Pretty Reckless didn't realize was the band's music is actually really good.

The debut album, "Light Me Up," available digitally everywhere February 8th, showcases Momsen in a different role fans are used to. Her voice is well above the maturity level of her age and the songs' lyrics are reminiscent of a seasoned veteran in the business. The Pretty Reckless is a cast of solid musicians and fans of pop/rock will definitely enjoy the effort that Momsen and company throw out to the public.

Why she needed to flash her breasts is beyond me as the band's music itself will keep The Pretty Reckless in the news positively. Of course, this could just be another role for Momsen, who herself acted 'pretty recklessly' by giving people a look at her breasts. But then again, Momsen is still young in age, although you wouldn't be able to tell that from the band's music.

Pick up "Light Me Up" and I guarantee you will love this album.
