Carrie Minter got her big break posing for Playboy magazine. She has since used that popularity to jump start her modeling career. I recently got the chance to chat with her about her start, posing for Playboy, and what she thought about Hef and Crystal Harris’ engagement.
Q – How did you get involved with modeling?
A - I got started in modeling when I was 15 years old. My Mother took me to a modeling competition and I ended up getting called back by 6 different agencies (Ford, Elite, and so on). We decided to go with Elite at that time. I have been modeling off and on for over a decade now.
Q – What was your first modeling gig?
A - The first modeling gig I did was a photo shoot for a ladies clothing boutique called, "Purple House."
Q – Most people know you from Playboy Magazine. How did this come about?
A - After I moved to Southern California in 2003, I signed with an agency in Los Angeles and began doing music videos and swimsuit modeling. Shortly after that a photographer sent some shots of me to Playboy. I was called back the day after we sent the shots so I was pretty excited. I went in for Polaroids, did a test shoot a month later, and was invited to the mansion for a weekend to meet Hef. This was when Hef was living with Holly, Bridget, and Kendra. I got to spend quite a lot of time at the mansion and enjoyed working and playing with the Playboy family.
Q – Playboy has been the leading men’s magazine for many years. How would you compare posing for this magazine versus other men’s publications? Are there better opportunities posing for Playboy than posing for Hustler or Penthouse?
A - I think that a lot of people consider Playboy to be the Bentley or Lamborghini of Erotica. As far as my thoughts go, Playboy has always been very tasteful and classy. If a model were to want to pursue a mainstream career, her chances of doing movies and television are much more likely to happen if she poses for Playboy instead of other nude magazines that do not have the same tastefulness and appeal.
Q - You’ve also appeared in films like “Date Night” and “Charlie Wilson’s War.” Is acting something you want to get into or does modeling satisfy you career wise?
A - Right now, modeling satisfies me career wise. I've started to branch out into the fitness world and am very excited about many new projects I have going on right now. I do love acting, and if I were given an opportunity that is right for me I would definitely take it up.
Q – What do you think of Hef’s engagement to Crystal Harris?
A – I have not had the pleasure of meeting Crystal Harris, but all I have to say is that if she and Hef are happy that is what matters.
Q – What would you say to those who believe that Crystal Harris is using Hef to get ahead in life?
A - What would I say to those who believe Crystal is using Hef to get ahead in life? Well, I can see where some people would think that, but I'm a Southern girl and was brought up to learn that there are just certain things I shouldn't talk about. Hef and Crystal's marriage and future together are between them. Like I said, if they are happy I am all for it.
Q – What’s next for you? Is there anything you’re working on?
A - I'm glad you asked what is next for me! As I stated before, I have many projects I am working on that I am very excited about! I have a new cover feature out in GQ South Africa. Here is a link to it: http://www.gq.co.za/girls/630058.html. I am also the spokes-model for my husband's fitness business, http://www.spxfitness.com/. Here is a link to my girls and I working out at his studio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afwoJBLlY0w. I have my own workout coming out soon that I am super psyched about. It is going to be targeted for the butt! I also have been working on a book that I hope to have finished before the summer. It is definitely a MUST READ! Lastly, I am currently in production for a reality TV show. I could go on and on about projects I am doing, LOL. :-) That should sum it up. :)
Q – That’s all I have. Is there anything you want to add?
A - For additional information about me feel free to look at my websites, http://www.carrielagree.com/ and http://www.carrieminter.com/.
