"Robert Pattinson doesn't need to play Nirvana's Kurt Cobain."

If you ask Courtney Love, there’s no way “Twilight’s” Robert Pattinson will be playing her deceased husband Kurt Cobain in the new biopic. This was stated in an article at Entertainment & Showbiz.com.

Even though fans may be upset about the decision, Love, who is the executive producer, actually made the right call for once. Pattinson is a great actor; he’s just not the right actor. According to the article, “It’s true that Robert Pattinson is the teenage heartthrob but as Courtney has previously said in the interview to The Canadian Press, Rob does not have what it takes to play Cobain on-screen.”

Pattinson, as talented as he is, should stick with roles that accentuate his features, aka his looks, and not grunge him down to where he is unnoticed. Fans want to see Pattinson in roles that allow them to walk out going, “He is so hot,” and “Marry me Edward,” as opposed to, “He looked so dirty in that movie,” and “Who’s Kurt Cobain?”

For Pattinson fans, don’t fear, as the latest edition of “Twilight” is set to hit theaters very soon. Stay tuned here for our countdown to the movie.

If you think Rob Pattinson looks anything less than absolutely divine when he's grunged down then clearly you have never seen a picture of Rob Pattinson in real life.

Not a Nirvana fan, so glad Pattinson won't be in that role...

Thank you for giving Rob props for his acting skills. I can't tell you how sick I am of people saying he can't act. I think alot of them are basing that opine on twilight (which I love), and forget that he's playing a character that is very even keeled and doesn't show great amounts of emotion. They obviously haven't read the books. I loved him in Remember Me, and thought his acting was great. I was sad to see it disappear from theaters after only a month, at least around here.

Well, it doesn't sound like he was ever in the running for it, anyway.

It's interesting to see everyone's reactions, though. The funny thing is that the Pattinson kid is supposedly an excellent musician, runs around looking like an out-of-work hipster half the time, and could probably look like Kurt with the right hair.

I actually think he could have done a decent job with the role. The fans never would have accepted him in the part, though.

After seeing Rob's acting ability in other movies, 'Little Ashes' and 'How to Be', I have no doubt he could easily play Cobain well. However I would like to think he wouldn't want any part in a production about Cobain, produced by a drug induced freak who clearly was an accomplice his murder. JMO.

I for one am more than thankful that he won't be portraying Cobain - that puts him far away from Courtney Love who is a totaly wacko - he doesn't need to be anywhere near her -

This movie is being written for die-hard rock fans, not a bunch of teenage whores who only want to go to the movies to see a bunch of muscular men with their shirts off. Rob Pattinson is a horrible actor and the only reason he has made it big is because he's attractive, like the majority of the cast in Twilight/New Moon.
Nirvana is my favorite band of all time, and putting some kind of teen pop star in the role of a visionary and artist like Kurt Cobain would be an insult...
If they cast a main-stream actor as Kurt Cobain, then they've made a horrible call.

I actually think Robert could have played Curt Cobain's role well. However, I think Ryan Gosling is a better fit cause he has the right vibe and look.

For the fans who would never have appreciated him in this role, quoting another commenter, just says something about those fans. I am a big fan of Rob's as well as Kurt's. I do agree that he would be perfect for the role, but I didnt even know anyone was thinking about casting him, or that there was going to be a movie about Kurt! LOL

I think its time Rob have a bigger following than just a bunch of teeny bopper hormone driven girls. And to be turned down before even going after a role because of those little girls is a shame. He goes much further than the Twilight films, while they are fantastic in my opinion, and people should stop thinking of him as anything less.

Anywho. That what I think about this whole ordeal.

Newsflash Rob already dress the part in real life. Hello! Have you seen his everyday clothes. I never got the whole grunge thing and was never a fan so I'm glad he's not playing him & won't be anywhere near that crackhead Courtney Love. As far as Kurt fans not accepting Rob, that's more a reflection of their simplistic minds. Robert Pattinson is a talented musician and did an excellent job playing eccentric Dali so I'm sure he can tackle a drug addicted musican who couldn't cope with life. If people are too stupid to separate Edward from Rob the actor that's their problem.
